This is how iPhone SE 2022 compares to iPhone 13 series

Introducing the new iPhone SE 2022. Turbocharged by the A15 Bionic chip and 5G connectivity. Love the power. Love the price. Those were Apple’s first words when was it presented at Apple’s March 8 Peek Performance event.

The iPhone SE 2022 or the 3rd gen, has the exact same design as the iPhone SE 2020, which itself was based on the iPhone 8. That phone, in turn, took its basic shape from the old predecessor iPhone 6. The device sits beneath the iPhone 13 range and its target is to replace the older iPhone SE (2nd generation) but it brings a number of features across from the iPhone 13 models.

Nothing new in terms of innovation.

The biggest thing that might attract some folks would be the addition of 5G. The old iPhone SE (2020 or 2nd gen) did not feature 5G connectivity.

The Apple iPhone SE (3rd generation) comes with a 4.7-inch Liquid Retina HD display which is the same old technology as the iPhone 11, if you want a superior quality OLED panel screen Super Retina XDR then you have to look at the iPhone 13 lineup.

The smaller iPhone you can buy right now is the iPhone 13 mini and has a 5.4-inch display and the iPhone SE has the smallest screen placed somewhere in between the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone 11.

We don’t know the battery capacity of the iPhone SE 3 just yet, but it seems that Apple managed a better battery life, courtesy of its more efficient A15 Bionic chip.

Camera

The Apple iPhone SE has a single-lens camera setup with a 12-megapixel main lens offering an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation.

The new iPhone SE’s camera system seems to be boosted by the new A15 Bionic chip, which enables some of the key Neural Engine-driven camera features of the iPhone 13 lineup. That includes Deep Fusion, Smart HDR4, and Photographic Styles.

If we are looking at iPhone 11 camera which features a dual camera with a 12-megapixel wide lens with f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel ultra wide lens with f/2.4 aperture, the iPhone 11 doesn’t offer Photographic Styles, though it does have Night mode, which the iPhone SE doesn’t offer.

The iPhone SE has a 7-megapixel front camera, while the iPhone 11 and iPhone 13 mini have a 12-megapixel front camera.

Hardware and specs

The new iPhone SE is similar to its predecessor, but there’s one area where it shines: performance.

Apple has packed its latest budget phone with the A15 Bionic processor, which is the same chip that can be found in the iPhone 13.
