Plug and Play
Carlinkit 4.0 is the latest generation faster and smoother pairing experience than it’s predecessor.
A total time of 22 seconds to boot up after being plugged into the designated USB port for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. While booting up the status led will show solid red. Next up the car screen will recongnize this device as an Apple CarPlay device. At this point the smartphone needs to be paired to the dongle. The bluetooth name will show up on the car screen so we know what to device to connect to. After tapping on the right device in the list the smartphone, in my case the iPhone will ask if I want to use CarPlay with this unit. The status led will flash green if the connection was successful.
And that’s it, iPhone stays connected and will be remembered next time you turn on the car. Now if you are wondering if you can plug your phone in to charge it, the answer is yes. You can just plug the phone to the dongle and it will charge.
Now might be a good idea to not leave the dongle in direct sunlight as the performance might be reduced due to excessive overheating.
In the box comes supplied with two USB adapters and instruction manual.
